Irish Whiskey Blog Irish Whiskey Blogger Stuart McNamara Irish Whiskey Press ReleaseThe Jameson International Graduate Programme is a  training and employment programme in which young graduates are trained as Jameson Brand Ambassadors to work in over 50 countries across 5 continents. It has proven to be a marvelous employment gateway for graduate entry to the world of Irish Whiskey business. Many of these young ambassadors progress in their careers to leadership roles in Irish Distillers and other whiskey and drinks multinationals outside Ireland.

The closing date for next year’s programme is on 15th January. Here, with further detail is the official press release from Irish Distillers.

18 September 2019: Irish Distillers, the makers of some of the world’s most enjoyed whiskeys and one of Ireland’’s leading suppliers of spirits and wines, is seeking to recruit graduates to join the 2020/21 Jameson International Graduate Programme. The programme, which is now in its 28th year, provides graduates with the opportunity to distil their own success and realise personal and professional goals, while working with a global Irish brand on an international stage.

Sinéad D’Arcy, Head of Jameson International Graduate Programme said: “Jameson is the number one Irish whiskey in the world with sales of 7.7 million cases last year with double or triple-digit growth in more than 70 markets across the world. It is fast becoming a truly global brand, with strong sales in emerging markets like Nigeria, India, Mexico, and Brazil. The growth of the Jameson International Graduate Programme mirrors that of Jameson, therefore we are looking to recruit Brand Ambassadors for our 2020/2021 intake, some of whom will have the opportunity to work in emerging markets in Africa, Asia, and Latin America.”

The Jameson International Graduate Programme is a truly unique programme, offering graduates the chance to work in one of over 50 countries across the world. Successful graduates are provided with the opportunity to shape their own experience supported by a competitive benefits package; a multi-award-winning training and development programme and a global support network, empowering them to hone and develop the necessary skills required to progress their career, while contributing to the global Irish whiskey success story.

“Over the past 28 years, the programme has evolved to meet the changing needs and expectations of graduates, as well as the Jameson brand. Last year we recruited a number of Brand Ambassadors in local markets. These hires have the knowledge and network locally to help build the Jameson brand and drive awareness. Their participation on the programme helps drive diversity, knowledge sharing and ultimately build a graduate programme representative of the Jameson brand,” continued D’Arcy.

Graduates are based across all five continents, and in the past three years the programme has grown significantly in Africa, Asia and Latin America with Brand Ambassadors now based in countries such as Cameroon, Peru, Mexico and Malaysia. To date, over 400 graduates have completed the Jameson International Graduate Programme since it was established in 1991. Alumni have progressed to global internal roles at Irish Distillers and Pernod Ricard and externally across various sectors.”

“Each year we look for graduates with serious character; driven, charismatic and creative, from a diverse range of backgrounds. The programme provides graduates with resources to establish the brand in a seed market or accelerate brand growth in an established one, while building professional confidence and competence. The application process includes a brief written application and the submission of a supporting two-minute video application, I would encourage any graduate considering applying to start do so now,” added D’Arcy.

Applications for the 2020/21 Jameson International Graduate Programme open at the end of September and close on Wednesday 15th January 2020 at 1pm. Applicants should visit jamesongraduateprogramme.com for more information.
